Young Parents Program

VISION

YPP envisions a world in which parents and families are able to learn, grow, and be vulnerable without fearing judgement, policing, scrutinization and punishment: a world where they are empowered to grow at their own pace, and honour their own styles of parenting.

MISSION

Founded in 1987, the Young Parents’ Program (YPP) is a place for parents, parents-to-be, and families of all kinds to break isolation, connect, and build a community of their peers free from judgment. YPP works to create foundations for families to thrive, global development for 0-5 year olds, . The program runs on participant-led principles, where young parents/guardians are involved in creating the educational and support-based programming they want to see.

APPROACH

The Young Parents’ Program offers a wide range of activities, workshops and discussions while your kids join in the childcare program. As a YPP parent you will also have access to free children’s clothing, toys, and accessories. We also have lunch together, and food security programming to support with the cooking at home.

All of the YPP activities are free unless noted, and two bus tickets are available for each parent at the end of every session.
